Module 01 Port & customs

Cleared before the anchor drops.

Most of arriving is paperwork. Customs declarations, immigration filings, port authority correspondence, agent coordination. Kora drafts it from the voyage plan and files it before the yacht is in sight of land.

By the time the tender is in the water, the paperwork is filed and the slot is confirmed.

Pre‑arrival paperwork

Advance notices, crew and guest manifests, customs declarations. Drafted from the voyage plan and filed against MCA, SafeSeaNet, USCG and equivalent schemas before the courtesy flag is raised.

Berths, pilots, immigration

Slot requests, pilot bookings and immigration appointments coordinated against tides, weather windows and the rest of the itinerary. Agents copied where local practice expects it.

Local where it matters

Port authority requirements differ by harbour and revise quietly. Kora keeps a live model of the rules in each jurisdiction, so the captain is not the one finding out at the dock.

Module 02 Harbour assist

An armada brings you alongside.

A fleet of small autonomous craft meets the yacht at the harbour mouth, takes station around the hull, and walks her into the berth — reading wind, current and clearance in concert. Precision no single tug can hold.

Met at the mouth

The armada forms up as the yacht approaches and takes its stations before she enters the fairway. No waiting on a single tug to come about.

Station‑keeping

Each craft holds position against wind and current, distributing thrust around the hull rather than straining from one point on a line.

To the centimetre

Closing speed and clearance resolved continuously, easing a sixty‑metre vessel into her slip without a hand on the lines.

Onboard

One intelligence, across the vessel.

Vessel intelligence

Navigation, power, propulsion and onboard systems read through a single, unhurried interface. Built from sensors the yacht already carries.

Crew assistance

Watch logs, provisioning records, charter paperwork, the standing documentation a vessel keeps. Held on the boat rather than carried out by departing crew.

Guest experience

Cabin preferences, dietary notes, returning-charter detail. Recorded once and carried across crew, seasons, and refits.

Predictive maintenance

Service intervals, drawing on trend data from the engineering plant. Work scheduled where it interrupts the voyage least and not in the middle of the Adriatic.

Local by default

Inference runs in a rack envelope onboard. Owner, guest and vessel data stay aboard unless the owner directs otherwise. No silent cloud sync.

Why now

Three things changed recently.

I

Capable models now run locally. A single rack‑mount envelope, of the kind that fits beside a watch‑keeper’s console, hosts the inference a vessel needs without leaving the hull.

II

The fleet has digitised. New 40 m‑plus builds arrive sensor‑saturated, and older yachts catch up at winter refit. There is more telemetry on a modern yacht than a single watch can read.

III

Crew rotation has not been this tight in two decades. Owners want the institutional memory of a vessel to live somewhere other than in the head of a departing officer.
